What is special about this birthday?
This is my 25th birthday. This season is my favorite one because my sister is born on 29 December. Then we have new year eve, then my birthday on 8 Jan following by Sankranthi. It was like a festive season in our home. I had a few Sankranthi releases in the past and Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu became a big Sankranthi hit. For a change, Sasirekha Parinayam released on 1st Jan. Some people told us that there is a jinx on Telugu films released on 1st January. I am happy that Sasirekha broke that jinx by becoming a hit.

What kind of compliments are you getting for Sasirekha Parinayam?
There is lot of maturity to my character. The best compliment I got about the film is that women like the nobility of my character and they are saying that a groom should posses the qualities of Abhimanyu character. They like the climax scene and Vijayawada dialogue.

How is it like working with Krishna Vamsi?
I am a huge fan of Krishna Vamsi from his first film Gulabi. After becoming an actor, it was always my dream to act in Krishna Vamsi’s film. It materialized with Sasirekha Parinayam. I found a good friend and human being in Krishna Vamsi after working with him.

Tell us about the break you took in your career?
There was a slump in my career as I did wrong projects like Sakhiya, Oka Voorilo etc. I intentionally took a break for one year to get things right. I took the opportunity to do a film course during that gap. I waited for the right project. I started doing reasonable films after the gap. There are ups and downs in everybody’s career. I don’t regret anything. I am happy the way career is cruising at present.

Tell us about the film course you have done?
I did a filmmaking course in New York Film Academy. It teaches you all the aspects of filmmaking. It helped my understanding the nuances of scripting and characterization. I also did a short film each on an assassin, a love story and a music video. That course helped me understanding my character better while acting.

What is your dream role?
I always wanted to do a mafia character. I loved JD role in Satya, Vivek Oberai role in Company and Al Pacino role in Godfather. I would love to do such kinds of roles.

Who are your best friends in film industry?
Srikanth and Sunil are my best buddies. I keep meeting Tarak and Krishna Vamsi.

Are you open to do multi-starrers?
No. I am not comfortable doing them.

Who is the best among the heroines you worked so far?
Everybody is close to me. But Genelia is the best.

Who do you like the most among the heroes?
Chiranjeevi is my favorite actor and he is the best. I also watch the films of Bunny, Tarak and Prabhas.

Will you vote for Chiranjeevi?
Yes. I will vote for him. But I will not campaign for any political party.

When are you going to get married?
After 3-4 years.

Do you prefer love or arranged marriage?
I prefer arranged marriage because it makes everybody happy.

What is your next project?
My next project will be produced by Raju Harwani and directed by Raaj Aditya (Pourudu fame). This film will be in complete contrast to Sasirekha Parinayam. Most of the film will be shot in abroad. It is a youth love story with variety concept. This film will go to sets in the first week of February.
